Results of the 2006/2007 Parish Visioning Meeting
February 25, 2006

The Seven Pastoral Priorities from Novo Millennio Ineunte,
2001 (The Beginning of the New Millennium):

  1. Holiness
  2. Prayer
  3. The Sunday Eucharist
  4. The Sacrament of Reconciliation
  5. The Primacy of Grace
  6. Listening to the Word
  7. Proclaiming the Word

Note:      Parish and all organizations goals should be based on the above seven priorities.


2006-2007 Vision Statement
The love of Christ impels us to reflect His love through
our evangelization
and stewardship.

ONE YEAR GOALS:

Education:

  • Adult Education on the Sacraments.
  • Family Honor Program of Chastity.
  • Continue and Expand Catholic Culture Camp program.
  • Adult Education on Sunday and/or Saturday evening after Masses. (Topic and generationally specific)
  • A regular article in "Heavenly News" listing upcoming educational conferences.
  • Educational "Topic Suggestion" box.

Evangelization

  • Legion of Mary.
  • Korean Ministry.
  • Language/Cultural Groups/Ministries.
  • Continue to increase community awareness through realtors, hotels, community media, billboards….
  • Women's Prayer Breakfast.
  • EWTN - Move to basic cable service.
  • Establish Catholic Professional Organizations.

Facilities

  • Sound Proof Adoration Chapel.
  • Signs at entrance (Impressive signs).
  • Traffic Flow.
  • Entrance to the building signage.
  • Traffic Attendant to direct parking.
  • Feasibility study of parish location.

Family Community Life:

  • Respect Life.
  • Parenting.
  • Support Group for Chronically Ill and Caregivers.

Liturgy:

  • Discuss times of Masses in relation to CCD and traffic flow.
  • Healing prayers periodically inserted in the liturgy.
  • Continue to focus on "refocusing our lives on Sunday".
  • Support Eucharistic Congress.
  • Continue to encourage participation in the Sacrament of Penance.
  • Yearly mission.

Stewardship:

  • Ad Hoc Policy for Fund Raising.
  • Increase, ongoing parishioner participation and awareness in all Ministries.
  • Encourage a yearly written financial commitment from parishioners.
  • Be sure to invite new members to volunteer.
  • Encourage active parishioners to invite others.

TWO TO FIVE YEAR GOALS:

  • Look at use and design of space between buildings old and new wings.
  • Second Priest.
  • Rectory on site.
  • Continue to look for opportunities for land acquisition.

FIVE (PLUS) YEAR GOALS:

  • Build a Family Life Center.
  • Build a new Church.
